Compare two versions of a draft

Paste the earlier version into Original text and the updated version into Revised text. Compare up to 3,000 words and 20,000 characters per version. You can also leave one version empty to see all text as added or removed.

Choose Side by side to read the versions separately, or Combined to see additions and deletions together. Green highlights show additions; muted red highlights and strikethrough show removals.

Understand your changes

The results report added words, removed words, and changed sections. Whitespace and punctuation changes are included, so a changed section can contain no changed words.

Comparison shows differences between the supplied text versions. It does not assess grammar, accuracy, authorship, or plagiarism. It does not suggest a better version.

Private comparison on your device

The comparison runs in a browser worker after you sign in. Your drafts are not sent to an AI service, and the tool does not save them to your account. Refreshing or leaving the tool clears the current comparison.

Public previews preserve your drafts through sign-in in tab-scoped browser storage for up to 30 minutes. Processing starts only when you choose Compare text in the workspace.
